Jesus, having ministered for a short time in Capernaum and
the synagogues of Galilee, spent the bulk of His three (3) year ministry in the
wilderness on hillsides and in private homes.
In keeping with the
Master (whom we follow), we are a church that has ministered in the city in
traditional settings that has now been led to minister in the wilderness that
is Central Texas and beyond.
The two (2) types of folks we generally get are:
1.
Rebels, who have always resisted authority, having trouble
with submission, who like the idea of not having a bunch of man-made rules.
2.
Church folks, who have realized there must be more to
spiritual life and growth than religiosity and ritual.
It has been our
experience (18 yrs) that the rebels soon resist the biblical teaching of
submission and the church folks “miss” the look of and format of the
religiosity of traditional church.
The Way Church
attempts to incorporate the non-traditional, laid-back Bible Study and ministry
with a few traditional services and ceremonies. We are VERY Biblical, so
ordinances, which are mandated by the Word are kept.
Here are some of
our regular meetings: Bible
Study (In homes/restaurants/etc.) often with meal. Aid &
Prayer Meeting (ministering to people’s needs) 24/6.5 Traditional
Service (w/St. John Baptist) 1st Sunday @ 11AM.
